Opening Day and his first game!

We had an early morning, all dressed and excited for opening day!  He played four seasons of city tball and this time we've moved up to Little League...wow, this is serious stuff!
I volunteered to be Team Mom, thinking I'd be in charge of snacks and cheering on the boys!
oh NO...I was SO wrong!
There have been Mom meetings, handing out uniforms, ordering banners, buying raffle items, scheduling snack days, ordering trophies, name plates and stickers for the parent cars!!!  Crazy right?  OR I probably should have taken the hint that when at our meeting at Coach's house at the beginning of the season, NOBODY offered to be Team Mom...I thought, "well, why not?"
NOW I KNOW!!!!  hahahaha....anyway!  But the boys have all been great and are having fun, so I shouldn't complain, it should settle down now that the season has started :-)

Momma and her man!  Gosh, I felt so proud watching him get all excited about the first big game!  I remember when we first started playing sports, he'd just play in the dirt and drag his bat to make lines to the dugout!  LOL, my baby is growing up!!!

the opening ceremonies were pretty cute.  we walked with our banner, the boys waved at the crowd and we took our seats, so we could watch the big boys receive awards from last years championship and playoff games...the boys thought it was SO cool that the bigger teams also had a "Knights" team, it was cute!! And they were TOO excited when their coach showed them how to eat sunflower seeds and spit the shell!  such boys!
they played their first game and did SO good!  Jake got two great hits and didn't use the tee!!!  woohoo!  I was so proud!  I was jumping up and down in the dugout...yea, I'm that Mom!!!  We have another game tonight, so here's hoping the Knights play hard and have FUN!!!!!

Ha Ha..I'm totally THAT mom too! He looks so handsome in his uniform. Glad he's enjoying it. Hope your team mom reaponsibilities lessen. I always get suckered into that kind of stuff too...I usually don't really mind though.
