I totally need lessons on how to use my camera when its NOT on auto mode! I know it has so much potential and I'm afraid to try it :) Any suggestions? It's a Nikon D3100.

Experiment, at least with digital we can do this, it is the way I have learnt how to use my camera and I know you like the results! Thanks for your recent comment on the Cherry Blossom post.
If you really want to take better photos this is the place to start learning, Ashley has website links to everything about photography and any of those websites can really help you learn how to use your camera! (you have a great one BTW!)

I love the AUTO mode on my camera so I'm NO help : )
Great pics! I'm learning by doing photos outside. I find the flash finicky and natural daylight is more well natural. There are sites that help too and I think Kelle Hampton is going to be doing VLOGs soon to teach us all how she takes those amazing photos. Just keep trying new stuff.
