home improvements...YAY!
I've never been great at decorating, but I do know that my house was very "BLAH" before this and now with help from Santa, my hubby and mom(partly from my birthday that is coming up soon too!), I was able to do some MUCH needed home improvements and I must say, I'm happy with the results :)
Here's a little sneak peek...

TOO MUCH, HGTV I came up with this!
And I already posted about my chair recovering project HERE!
Yes, there's still tons to do, but I'm pretty happy with how it all turned out!
Next item on my wishlist...LAMINATE FLOORING!!!
Maybe I should write my letter to Santa NOW?!?!

"Just You and I"
Daddy was working, big brother went to a slumber party at DeDe's, so tonight it was...
"Just You and I"

Mommy was able to play with my new camera, which I L.O.V.E!
My point and shoot could not capture pictures like these!!
We played in your room, you had your favorite cookies, we watched Elmo and Chuggington(your two fav's!), you rode your tractor, we played in big brothers room(shhhh, don't tell!),

took a bath and then it was night-night time!
But not before getting LOTS of hugs and kisses :)
Although I'm missing your big brother and Daddy like crazy right now, I sure enjoyed tonight!
Love you, sweet boy!

grateful

One of my biggest regrets as a mother is not taking the time to soak up the "little" moments with my oldest son when he was a baby. Yes, he's only four and we've had plenty of time to bond, HOWEVER I was a teacher full-time until my second son was born, and because of that, I felt like the baby stages with my first son were rushed. Mostly by ME. I spent the days stressing about getting to work, picking him up from his sitter, getting home and cooking dinner, bath time, bed time and packing for the next day...repeat this cycle mon-fri!
Now that my dream of staying at home became reality when my second son was born, I told myself to truly TREASURE the moments I have with my boys!
This means soaking up the small, little moments that make me smile each day.
I have been at home for a year and a half and I find myself getting "busy" with cleaning, cooking, laundry, picking up...

...then I have to remind myself that these boys are MY LIFE. My husband and I love to sit and just watch them! They are SO entertaining and funny, even when they are not trying to be! Jacob is growing up so fast, he's no longer my baby boy. He loves his friends at school, loves to play outside and he is 110% BOY. Justin is easy -going, loves to laugh, very laid back unless you make him angry(which his brother manages to do, daily).
So, the next time I find myself cleaning the house like a crazy woman, picking up the toys strung all throughout my house, or doing 5 loads of laundry in one day, I PROMISE to STOP and soak up these "little" moments with my boys! I had wanted to stay at home since November 8,2006(the day my first son was born) and it was not possible then. I am SO grateful that my husband gave me this gift! I can take advantage of it at times, but for 2011 I will make sure each smile, laugh and much more is soaked up by their Momma!!!!

Wordless Wednesday...with a few words!
20 months!Oh big boy, you have made our lives SO complete!
You love to laugh, sleep and eat! Ha!
Yes, some days you still take TWO naps, and sleep about 14-16hrs at night :)
You love to eat but, boy are you picky!
You are FINALLY lovin' bananas which is the ONLY fruit you'll touch!
You love cheese, crackers, and you can't get enough pb&j!
You LOVE your big brother and want to play with whatever he has, which makes him mad but secretly he LOVES that you look up to him SO much!
When you smile, it melts my heart and your giggle is BEYOND precious!
Love you sweet boy and can't believe you're growing up so fast...more like, TOO fast!
and of course, you look JUST LIKE DADDY and I love it!

Jacob's MANY faces...
His faces and expressions are PRICELESS
and I just wanted to share a few with you :)
As you can see, he's been coming out of his shell
and showing A LOT more personality lately!
What's up for Jacob in 2011??
*Trying to learn how to ride his bike WITHOUT training wheels
*keep working on writing the alphabet
*making more great, school friends
*keep being a great BIG BROTHER...Hmmm, stop picking on baby brother too!
*He says he wants to play tball, football and soccer this season...
well, football doesn't happen until he's older, so that ones out...
but tball is for sure and possibly soccer too??!
We'll see, he is ONLY four years old! Ha!
*We spent New Year's Eve with Jacob's tball coach and his family, and their friends too
WOW, Jacob was the life of the party and his coach was shocked to see
ALL that personality...we were ALL shocked!
Hope you all had a happy and safe New Year's too!!
