playing catch up...

Last weekend we took the boys to a airplane and auto show that was hosted by one of my mom's customers, so we had free tickets, free lunch and the boys had a BLAST! They rode in a CoastGuard rescue boat, sat on the firetrucks and watched the helicopters and planes circle above...very cool! The last picture had to be by this Jeep, the boys both screamed that they wanted Daddy to buy them one as they both tried to climb inside :) and yep, we had a Tball game that morning and Jacob did great!!!

*Well, our little man turned two on Wednesday and we're still celebrating and coming to terms that our baby boy is growing up (too fast!), but he's sure had a good week full of cake, presents and lots of swimming...definitely a birthday to remember!

Birthday Boy!

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you...Happy 2nd Birthday to my sweet, baby boy Happy Birthday to YOU!!! Look at that face full of cupcake!

Ready to go swimming!

It started off yesterday with a swim in DeDe's pool, and some yummy dinner! This morning the birthday boy woke up to us singing Happy Birthday and he was jumping up and down pretending to blow out candles in his crib :) and he asked, "I two now, Mommy?" Then it was time for breakfast and while Mommy was preparing your favorite, cinnamon rolls and scrambled eggs, the boys enjoyed CUPCAKES!! Yes, I gave in and allowed them to have cupcakes for breakfast! Oh my goodness, they were SO happy and after we sang to Justin again, he ate all the icing off his cupcake in ONE BITE!!! Happy Birthday sweet boy! Your day is not over yet...

Tomorrow is the BIG DAY!

It's our baby boy's 2nd birthday TOMORROW :(

*Although he's super excited and keeps singing Happy Birthday to himself, I am a little sad. He's definitely not a baby anymore...already telling me that he's ready to "poopie in the potty", telling us he loves us 1,000 times a day and it melts our hearts EVERY time, trying to go "Night night with Jacob" instead of his baby bed. Yep, he's growing up fast.

* But he sure is a sweet boy. He loves getting hugs and kisses, loves telling Daddy 100 times that he's going to miss him while he goes to work, he will cuddle with you for hours as long as big brother isn't chasing him around the house!

*His eyes...well, it's pretty much obvious how gorgeous they are!!

*He loves playing with big brother toys, not baby toys! He will take off with Jacob's favorite things and laugh as he escapes with a toy that's sure to make Jacob super mad!!

*He loves to laugh, all the time! He has a smile on his face, always! And as soon as he knows he's hurt his brother's feelings, we'll hear "Jacob, I'm so sorry", complete with a pouty lip! It's irresistible!

*He's a super picky eater, but recently found a love for watermelon and can't get enough...he asks for "mumelom" all day long! So, he pretty much lives on cheese and watermelon...oh and milk too. But we're okay with that for now, because we're hopeful that his appetite will expand soon?!

*And nothing has changed with your sleeping schedule, it's SO obvious that you LOVE your sleep! You love napping and night night time! It's so nice to lay you down and you crash right away or you talk yourself to sleep by singing, Usher! Oh yes, he does!

*You love Tball and can't wait until you are big enough to play! You sit with Mommy in the dugout and cheer on the Tigers for every practice and game and sometimes you run the bases with your brother too...it's precious!

*You love going to big brother's school and attending Chapel each week! You sing all of the songs, sit in my lap and smile and wave at Jacob! It's TOO sweet! How is it possible for your two favorite songs to be, "In the Lord's Army" from Chapel and "O.M.G." by Usher?? Yep, somehow it's possible!!

On May 11th, 2009, our hearts grew and we are so blessed to have such a HAPPY, LOVING, SWEET, HILARIOUS baby boy in our complete, family of four! We plan on spoiling you rotten tomorrow with your favorite muffins for breakfast, a trip to the beach and maybe even a trip to DeDe's to go swimming!

Happy 2nd Birthday Justin!

We LOVE you all the way up to the moon and back :)

Mother's Day 2011

Happy Mother's Day, Mommy!

We celebrated Mother's Day 2011 in Galveston for brunch at the Hotel Galvez with my two boys, and while Daddy had to work :( we had brunch with MeMe, DeDe and Aunt Paulette! We were greeted with complimentary Valet, complete with a carnation for each of us! We all ate WAY too much, indulged in dessert, took a little walk while we waited for the car and then headed to the cemetery to see, Bonka (my grandmother). It was a beautiful day and the cemetery was full of families visiting their loved ones. The boys told Bonka that they loved and missed her, MeMe and I cried as we told her how much we missed her, we left her a beautiful cross of pink roses(she would have loved them!) and said our goodbyes. The day ended with Daddy coming home from work and playing with the boys in the backyard, while I laid around in my pj's, enjoying some quiet time :) It was a perfect day, even though I wish my hubby wouldn't have been at work, but it was still a nice Mother's Day 2011!

Hope you all had a very nice Mother's Day full of love, lots of hugs and kisses from your kiddos and hubby's too :)

Mother's Day wishes...

My gift from Jacob that he made at school this year reads, "Mothers hold their children's hands for a short while, but their hearts forever"...SO TRUE :)
and wishing my mom a Happy Mother's Day!
Mom, there are no words to say how much you mean to me. Your strength, your relationship with our boys, it means the world to me! You were there for me all the times I needed you and still NEED you. Your sacrifices that put ME first throughout your life, I am forever grateful. I know you miss your mother, my Bonka right now and I do too but know that she's thinking of us and her love is still all around us, I know that we make her proud and I can only hope that I am the kind of mother to my boys that you've been to me...THANK YOU!

...and to all the Momma's out there, Happy Mother's Day to all of you!
May you have a very wonderful Mother's Day full of breakfast in bed, flowers and hugs...
and much more on this very special day!!

Fun at the Beach!

With us growing up so close to Galveston, although it's not the prettiest beach, it sure is fun to make memories at the beach with our children, the way we did as kids! The boys had a blast running in the water, playing the sand and chasing the seagulls :) We'll have to make many more beach trips this summer!!

March of Dimes recap!

I had posted about the March of Dimes-March for Babies event that took place yesterday in downtown Houston! It was a huge success! Our team, Nick Chuck was in honor of Nick, a baby born at 26 weeks at only 1lb 8oz! He survived and is one happy, healthy baby!! I also set a personal record of running(never stopping!) the 5 miles to the finish line! Yay! I pushed my boys because I wanted them to be part of such a special event too! My mom and our friends Jenny and Parker were there too!

This is my mom, my boys and the Jazzercise group that my mom's a part of! These women are SO much fun and a really fun group! The instructor, Christine is fabulous...so full of energy and motivation! Such an inspiration to so many people! There was a cut off at two different spots on the route, and although some of her group wanted to take the shorter route, Christine would NOT allow it...she told them they would go the full 5 miles, no matter what! And they did! I am so proud of my mom for staying active and making exercise a priority in her life :) and it was fun for all of us to walk for such a great cause!!

*I'm totally convinced that I can run a half marathon, so we'll see if I find the courage to sign up for one in my future?! I was so motivated to keep running, because in the group of 30,000 + people on the route, I felt like I could NOT give up or stop pushing myself!! At the finish line, as I was pouring bottled water on my head(it's getting hot here in Texas), my boys enjoyed an ice cream sandwich...Ha! What a way to end a 5 mile race, huh?!
